A Day at the Playground
In a small, sunny town, there was a playground with swings, slides, and a big sandbox. This was where Sam, Lily, and Max loved to play every day. Sam had curly brown hair, Lily wore bright yellow shoes, and Max always carried his red bucket.
One sunny morning, as the birds sang in the trees, the three friends raced to the playground. "Last one there is a turtle!" giggled Lily as she dashed ahead.
They played happily, taking turns on the swings and digging deep holes in the sandbox. Suddenly, they noticed a new child sitting alone on a bench. His name was Tom, and he had glasses and used a wheelchair.
"Who is that?" whispered Max, peeking from behind his red bucket.
"Let's go say hello," suggested Lily with a big smile.
Sam nodded, and together, they went over to meet Tom.
Learning to Play Together
"Hi, I'm Sam, and this is Lily and Max," said Sam, pointing to his friends. "Do you want to play with us?"
Tom looked up and smiled. "Hello! I would like that," he replied shyly.
"But how can Tom play in the sandbox?" Max wondered. "His wheelchair can't go in."
Lily thought for a moment. "We can bring the sand to him!" she said happily. "We can share Max's bucket."
Tom's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Really?" he asked.
"Yes, really!" said Sam, and they all laughed together.
So, they filled the bucket with sand and brought it to Tom. They made funny shapes and built a small sandcastle right next to his wheelchair. Tom showed them how to make a sand turtle, and they all cheered when it was done.
Understanding and Friendship
Later, they decided to play on the swings. "Can Tom swing too?" Lily asked, looking at the swings and then at Tom.
Sam had an idea. "Maybe he can help us push the swings," he said. "Pushing can be fun too!"
Tom agreed, and he laughed as he helped push Max on the swing. Max giggled and shouted, "Higher! Higher!"
After a while, Tom said, "I like helping you. It's fun to be part of the game."
Lily smiled and said, "We like having you here, Tom. You're our friend now!"
The sun began to set, and it was time to go home. As they left the playground, Sam said, "Today was the best day."
"Yes, because we all played together," added Lily.
Tom waved goodbye with a big, happy smile. "See you tomorrow!" he called.
Conclusion: A Lesson in Tolerance
That day, Sam, Lily, and Max learned something important. They learned that even though people might be different, everyone can play together and be friends. Differences make us special, and being kind and understanding makes the world a happier place.
And so, every day after that, they all played together at the playground, sharing, laughing, and making memories, knowing that friendship knows no bounds.
