Chapter 1: The Sniffly Day

Oliver woke up to the sound of raindrops tapping against his window. He sniffled a little and felt a tickle in his throat. "Oh no," he thought, "I hope I'm not getting sick."

His mom peeked into the room with a warm smile. "Good morning, Oliver! How are you feeling today?"

Oliver shrugged. "I have a bit of a sniffle, but I'm okay."

"Let's make sure you wash your hands well today, alright? It helps keep those pesky germs away," his mom suggested, ruffling his hair.

After breakfast, Oliver stood at the sink, squirting soap into his hands. He sang the "Happy Birthday" song twice while scrubbing, just like his teacher had taught him. The bubbles felt slippery and fun between his fingers.

"All clean!" Oliver declared, feeling a little like a superhero who had just defeated a villain named Germy.

Oliver's mom handed him a tissue. "Let's bring a few of these along, just in case."

As Oliver left for school with his backpack bouncing on his shoulders, he felt a little better knowing he was ready to tackle the day.

Chapter 2: A Kind Gesture

At school, Oliver's best friend, Sam, noticed his sniffles. "You sound like a little trumpet today!" Sam joked, making Oliver laugh.

Oliver sniffed dramatically. "I'm just practicing for our band, Sam!"

During recess, as they played tag, Oliver's nose began to tickle again. He stopped to grab a tissue from his pocket. As he blew his nose, Sam waited patiently.

"Thanks for waiting, Sam," Oliver said, his voice slightly muffled by the tissue.

"No problem! You know, my grandma always says, 'A friend in need is a friend indeed,'" Sam replied, smiling.

Oliver nodded, feeling grateful for his friend. Together, they ran back to join their classmates, the laughter and fun warming Oliver's heart more than ever.

Chapter 3: A Visit to Nurse Lily

As the school day went on, Oliver's sniffles became more frequent. Mrs. Turner, his teacher, noticed and gently suggested, "Oliver, why don't you visit Nurse Lily? She might have something to help with your sniffles."

Oliver nodded, and Sam offered to walk with him. "You're the best, Sam," Oliver said with a grin.

Nurse Lily welcomed them with a cheerful hello. "What brings you here, Oliver?" she asked kindly.

"I've got a case of the sniffles," Oliver replied, trying to smile through another sneeze.

Nurse Lily checked his temperature and gave him a small cup of warm herbal tea. "This should help, and don't forget to keep washing your hands," she reminded him.

"Thanks, Nurse Lily. I already feel a bit better," Oliver said, sipping the tea.

Sam patted Oliver on the back. "Let's head back to class. We don't want to miss art!"

Chapter 4: The Art of Togetherness

Back in class, Oliver and Sam sat down with their classmates to start painting. Mrs. Turner had asked them to create pictures of something that made them happy.

Oliver thought for a moment, then began painting a scene of him and Sam playing outside with a bright sun shining down on them. Sam peeked over and grinned. "That's us! I love it!"

As they painted, Mrs. Turner walked around, admiring their work. "Beautiful colors, Oliver. It looks like a perfect day," she commented.

"Thanks! It makes me happy to remember the fun times, even when I have the sniffles," Oliver replied, feeling a warm glow inside.

Chapter 5: A Bedtime Story

After school, Oliver returned home, feeling tired but happy. His mom noticed his sleepy eyes and said, "How about an early bedtime with a story tonight?"

Oliver nodded, grateful for the comfort of his home and family. After a warm bath and another good hand wash, he snuggled into bed.

His mom sat beside him, opening a book. "Tonight's story is about a brave little bear who learned to take care of himself when he had a cold."

As she read, Oliver listened intently, feeling the warmth of the blanket and his mom's love surround him. The story soothed him, and he imagined himself as the brave bear, knowing that taking care of himself was important.

"Goodnight, Oliver. Remember, it's okay to ask for help when you need it," his mom whispered, kissing his forehead.

Oliver yawned, feeling safe and loved. "Goodnight, Mom. I will."

As he drifted to sleep, Oliver dreamed of adventures with Sam, laughter, and the comfort of knowing he was never alone, no matter how many sniffles he had.
