The engines sang a slow tune. They ran tests that were like counting beads. All lights turned green. The path in front of them opened.
On the bridge, Mira smiled. The stars made a bright corridor. The ship slid through like a boat on calm water. Children laughed and pointed. Robots brought warm soup. The leak was a memory now. Mira tucked a tiny patch into a box for later. She felt good. She felt safe.
At the end, the crew saw a bright gate of light. It was a way open to new places. Mira held a small hand and said, "We did this together." The ship sailed on. The future was kind and wide.
