Six-year-old Aarav had a tiny wooden box shaped like a star. It sat beside his bed and had shiny silver moons painted on it. But this was not an ordinary box. Grandma called it the “Prayer Box.”
“Whenever your heart feels too full,” Grandma said softly, “you can give everything to God through this box.”
Aarav looked confused. “Everything?”
Grandma smiled. “Your happiness, your fears, your worries, even your tears.”
That night, Aarav tried it for the first time. He folded a small piece of paper and wrote carefully:
Thank you, God, for my new kite.
He placed it inside the Prayer Box and smiled before going to sleep.
The next morning, he woke up feeling warm and peaceful, as if sunshine were glowing inside his chest.
Days passed, and Aarav began sharing more things with God.
One day, he wrote:
I am scared of the dark.
Another day:
Please help Papa feel better soon.
And sometimes:
Thank you for mango ice cream and my best friend, Vihaan.
Whenever Aarav placed a note inside the box, he felt lighter somehow — as if someone strong and loving were carrying his heavy thoughts for him.
Then came the school singing day.
Aarav had practiced for weeks, but when he stood on the stage and saw the crowd, his knees shook like jelly.
“I can't do it,” he whispered.
That evening, tears rolled down his cheeks as he opened the Prayer Box.
He wrote slowly:
Dear God, I am scared. Please hold my fear for me.
He folded the paper tightly and dropped it into the box.
Grandma sat beside him quietly. “When we surrender our worries to God,” she said gently, “our hearts make room for courage.”
The next day, Aarav walked onto the stage again. He still felt nervous, but this time he closed his eyes for one tiny moment and whispered, “God, stay with me.”
And then he sang.
His voice started small, but soon became bright and strong, like a little bird greeting the morning sun.
Everyone clapped loudly.
That night, Aarav ran home smiling. He quickly wrote another note:
Thank you, God, for helping me sing.
As Grandma tucked him into bed, Aarav hugged his Prayer Box tightly.
“Grandma,” he whispered, “God really listens, doesn't He?”
Grandma kissed his forehead. “Always, little one. Especially when we trust Him with all our hearts.”
From then on, the little star-shaped Prayer Box became Aarav's special place — where joy became gratitude, worries became lighter, and fear slowly turned into faith.
Message:
When we surrender our happiness, sadness, and worries to God, our hearts become lighter, braver, and filled with peace. God lovingly listens to every prayer, big or small.
