A New Friend

In a sunny meadow, there lived a little rabbit named Benny. Benny loved to play rugby. He had a small rugby ball, and every morning, he would hop around with it, pretending to score great tries. Benny was a bit shy, but he was also very curious about the world.

One day, while practicing, Benny saw a squirrel named Sam watching him from a tree.

"Hello," said Sam. "What are you doing?"

"I'm playing rugby," Benny replied softly, holding his ball tightly.

"Can I play too?" asked Sam, jumping down from his branch.

Benny thought for a moment. He was used to playing alone, but having a friend might be fun. "Okay," he said, smiling. "Let's play together."

The Challenge

Benny tossed the ball to Sam, who caught it with his tiny paws. They started to play, running back and forth, laughing and cheering each other on. Benny felt happy to have a friend to share his favorite game with.

Suddenly, a strong wind blew through the meadow, and the rugby ball flew high into the air, landing in a tall, prickly bush. Benny and Sam looked at each other, worried.

"Oh no," said Benny. "How will we get the ball back?"

Sam, thinking quickly, said, "We can work together. I can climb the bush to get the ball."

Benny nodded. "And I can stand below to catch it when you drop it down."

Sam climbed up carefully, while Benny waited patiently below. Sam reached the ball and gently pushed it out of the bush. Benny caught it with a big smile.

"Yay! We did it!" Benny cheered.

Teamwork Wins

Benny and Sam continued to play, feeling proud of how they had worked together to solve the problem. As they played, other animals began to gather to watch them. A fox, a hedgehog, and a bird joined in, making a bigger team.

"Can we play too?" the fox asked.

"Of course," Benny said, feeling more confident now.

They all played together, passing the ball and cheering each other on. Benny realized that playing rugby with friends was much more fun than playing alone. He felt happy and brave, knowing he could make new friends.

At the end of the day, as the sun began to set, Benny and his new friends sat together, tired but happy.

"Thank you for playing with me," Benny said. "Rugby is so much fun with friends."

Sam nodded. "I'm glad we could help each other. Teamwork makes everything better."

Benny smiled. "Yes, it does."

And from that day on, Benny was never alone in the meadow again. He had friends who loved rugby just as much as he did, and together, they learned the joy of playing as a team.
