"Did you hear that?" Jamie asked, turning to his friends.
Lily nodded, her eyes wide. "Do you think it's the whispers?"

The children gasped, too amazed to speak at first. Then Lily found her voice, "What do you mean 'your call'?"
Lyra fluttered closer, her wings casting rainbow reflections. “The whispers are a warning. We seek help to protect our home from those who do not understand its magic.”

The friends listened intently as Lyra explained that a group of grown-ups planned to cut down part of the forest to build a road, unaware of the magic it held. The whispers were a plea for help from the forest creatures.
